Color Schemes
The color scheme maps each wind speed bin to a color. Click Colors (palette icon) in the plot toolbar to open the picker, then click any swatch to apply it.
Available Schemes
Here are all of the schemes, grouped by type. Each strip shows the colors as they appear from the lowest bin (left) to the highest (right):
Sequential (single-hue)
Sequential (multi-hue)
Diverging
Sequential, single hue
Best for ordered speed bins, where darker means stronger wind.
Sequential, multi hue
More contrast across the range while still reading as ordered.
Diverging
Two hues meeting in the middle, useful when you want the extremes to stand out.
Choosing a Scheme
Because wind speed bins are ordered (low to high), a sequential scheme is usually the clearest: the eye reads increasing color intensity as increasing wind speed. Reach for a diverging scheme only when you specifically want the calmest and strongest bins to contrast.
The chosen scheme drives both the plot wedges and the legend swatches.
